The New Patriotic Party's Deputy Chief scribe wants the Apex Court to, with immediate effect, summon Koku Anyidoho for some contemptuous comment he passed on the court’s ruling.

Nana Obiri Boahen noted that the NDC ‘big boy’ must be summoned and penalised for dragging the court’s image into disrepute.

According to him, the NDC deputy general secretary's “Supreme Court should run elections in Ghana” comment is “unfortunate”, “unacceptable” and “contemptuous”.

“I am even surprised Koku Anyidoho is walking freely. I am surprised he has not been summoned by the Supreme Court for what he said. His comment is unfortunate, unacceptable and contemptuous,” he said.

Koku is quoted to have said the Supreme Court should be permitted to run elections in the country since he could not understand why the court through its actions is seemingly involving in the operations of the Electoral Commission (EC).

Koku Anyidoho’s remark is in reaction to the instruction by the Supreme Court to the EC to give it an “inclusive” list of all people who registered with the NHIS card.

The Supreme Court in an attempt to give further clarification to its May 5 judgment on the disagreement regarding the voters’ register, asked the EC to furnish it with a complete list of all persons who registered with the NHIS cards.

Speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show, 'Ghana Montie', Nana Obiri Boahen, who is also a lawyer, noted that the NDC man must face the wrath of the court to set a precedent ahead of election 2016.

“His comment is scandalising the administration of justice. His comment is posing the administration of justice into public ridicule. His comment is not fair. The court must question him,” he told host Kwasi Aboagye.
