The deputy General Secretary of the governing NDC, Koku Anyidoho says the Editor in Chief of the Crusading Guide newspaper, Kweku Baako Jnr. has exposed himself by insulting Chiefs endorsing President John Mahama for his good works.

He describes Mr Baako’s position as myopic, influenced by selfish interest and exposes his hypocrisy.

Mr. Baako has come under heavy criticism for describing Chiefs who categorically endorse a President as unwise.

“No wise chief speaks that way. These Chiefs go out there and cannot just commend government for the projects they have embarked on which are benefiting their people but proceed beyond that to endorse them, it is so irritating.” Kweku Baako jnr. said on Peace FM’s current affairs programme Kokrokoo.

He was commenting on a statement made by Nana Asiedu Agyeman lll, Acting Paramount Chief of the Kwahu Traditional Area during President John Mahama’s ‘Accounting to the People Tour” to the Eastern Region.

“Kweku Baako must have forgotten how he used to enjoy under President Kufuor. Maybe Kweku Baako was very wise in those days when he was celebrating his 50th birthday in Japan, when President Kufuor went on a state sponsored trip to Japan and those days they had no respect for Ghanaians so they couldn’t be bothered. And he splashed the pictures in the Daily Guide. I remember those pictures vividly. He was very wise when they used the back door to make him Journalist of the Year, he was very wise” a livid Anyidoho retorted on Radio Gold".

He added; “When Kufuor was putting big chains around his neck and the likes of Sefa Kayi and co, I am sure Kweku Baako jnr. was full of wisdom. They are not following President Mahama around to celebrate their birthday abroad oooo, or following President Mahama around on state trips to go and sleep in the Waldorf Astoria and other expensive hotels. The Chiefs are just humbly thanking the President for bringing development to their area and Kweku Baako says these Chiefs are foolish? The Chiefs and the good people of Ghana thank Kweku Baako for his insults.”

He wondered why if today, the road between Dodi Pepeso and Nkwanta has been tarred and commuters spend one hour and not more than six hours on the road, the Chiefs won’t be grateful.

“A new community day SHS is built so children don’t go to school in dilapidated structure or if there is a CHIPS compound and the Kwahumanhene says since President Nkrumah’s days Kwahuman hasn’t had a government hospital and he thanks President Mahama is that foolishness? He asked.

Mr Anyidoho noted that during the NPP administration, President Kufuor had a strong team from the Eastern region in his government such as current NPP Flagbearer Nana Akufo Addo who was a Cabinet Minister, Hackman Owusu Agyemang, Felix Owusu Agyepong, Osafo Marfo who was also served as Finance Minister, Yaw Barimah and the likes never thought of establishing a University in their home region and wondered why President Mahama won't be praised for taking the bold initiative of establishing a University in the region.

The blunt deputy NDC Chief Scribe dared Kweku Baako to go ahead on that trajectory and he will further be exposed. He chastised him further saying Kweku Baako jnr., doesn’t travel outside Accra and is ignorant about the massive development across the country.

“His world exists around the Coffee Shop, his house at Labone, Metro TV, Joy FM and Peace FM. That is his world in Accra. If he is travelling, then he is going abroad on a holiday and when he is there, he will be sending text messages to Kwame Sefa Kayi to be reading on Peace FM,” Anyidoho maintained lamenting further that when the Chiefs see the impact of development on their lives, Mr Baako will sit in the comfort of his office in Accra and insult them.
