Apam Landing Beach donates street bulbs, accessories to Town Council

Apam (C/R), Sept. 6, GNA – The Apam Landing Beach Committee, which is responsible for the sale of premix fuel has donated 100 street bulbs and accessories to the Town Council to improve visibility in the town at night.

The items worth GH¢8,000.00 was presented to the Chairman of the Town Council, Mr Amos Appiah by the Secretary of the Committee, Mr Ebenezer Crentsil.

Mr Crentsil said the donation was intended to facilitate the celebration of the town’s annual Akwambo Festival to facilitate security.

He said during festivals many nocturnal activities took place and to expose these criminals there was the need to brighten the streets and the corners.

Mr Appiah expressed gratitude to the committee for the gesture.

Mr Theophilus Aidoo-Mensah, District Chief Executive said utilisation of profits from the sale of premix fuel had proved that the ruling National Democratic Congress had the welfare of the nation at heart.

He said the Committee had also provided the beach with lights to help fishermen to sell their harvest at night.
