Founder and leader of the Remnant Christian Network (RCN), Apostle Arome Osayi, has recounted how popular African evangelist, Archbishop Benson Idahosa, prophesied the downfall of Lieutenant General Frederick Akuffo after the military general failed to heed his words.

In one of his sermons about God’s generals in Africa, Apostle Osayi noted how God used Archbishop Idahosa to advance His work on the continent.

He also mentioned some of the wonders performed by the archbishop, even as he told the story of how a Head of State of Ghana who directly preceded the late Flight Lieutenant Jerry John Rawlings was killed for disregarding Archbishop Idahosa.

According to Apostle Arome Osayi, Archbishop Idahosa tasked his trainee, now Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, to request the then-president of Ghana to provide a space for him [Duncan-Williams] to preach on national television.

He said the Head of State of Ghana, however, rejected the request and questioned who Archbishop Idahosa was.

“He [Archbishop Idahosa] sent Duncan-Williams to the president and said, 'I, Idahosa, charge thee, give my son a space on national TV to preach the word of God,' and the president said, 'Who is Idahosa?' So, Duncan-Williams took the message back to Idahosa,” Apostle Osayi narrated in a viral social media video.

Reacting to the response from the then Head of State of Ghana, Archbishop Idahosa publicly stated, “I dethrone him; in one month’s time, if he is still there, then it means I am not Idahosa.”

Apostle Osayi added that exactly within a month, that Head of State was dethroned and killed.

Again, Idahosa sent Duncan-Williams to deliver the same message to Ghana’s new Head of State, then Flight Lieutenant Jerry John Rawlings.

Rawlings, who had heard of what transpired between his predecessor and Archbishop Idahosa, quickly approved and fulfilled the clergyman’s request.

Apostle Osayi said, “The guy [the Head of State] was killed in one month’s time, and when Jerry John Rawlings took over, he sent Duncan-Williams again saying, 'I, Idahosa, I charge thee, allow my son to preach on national TV.' I learned Rawlings had heard of what happened, so he quickly allowed it,” he explained.

Although Apostle Osayi did not name Lieutenant General Frederick Akuffo as the president who was dethroned by Archbishop Idahosa, Akuffo was the Head of State of Ghana who directly preceded Rawlings and was killed in a coup d'état.
