The Koforidua District of the Apostolic Church-Ghana has launched its 80th Anniversary celebration with a call on Ghanaians to have absolute faith in Jesus Christ.
The anniversary celebrations would be observed by the church nationwide in the latter part of the year on the theme, “Celebrating Christ, Our Consistent Companion.”
Addressing the theme, Apostle J.K. Ansah, the Koforidua Area Superintendent of the Church, called on Christians to have absolute confidence in Jesus Christ as their only consistent companion in times of troubles and happiness.
He urged them: “Beware of opportunists who parade themselves as men of God, taking undue advantage of gullible persons who are in distress by selling certain substances and concoctions to them to remedy their plights."
Apostle Ansah said God had given power to all who believed in Him to become His children and so was ready to listen and answer them whenever they prayed to Him directly.
Dr Kweku Owusu Acheampong, the New Juaben Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), who graced the ceremony, congratulated the Church for achieving such feat and attributed its growth to the tireless efforts and sacrifices of the leaders.
He called for the continuation of the state-church partnership to ensure the socio-economic development of Ghana, asked them to massively get involved in the National Sanitation Day Exercise.
Dr Acheampong said building a better Ghana was the responsibility of all citizens and advised that members played a greater role in achieving the government’s Better Ghana Agenda.
