Archbishop Duncan-Williams blesses president-elect Oppong-Weah of Liberia

The General Overseer of the Action Chapel International (ACI) ministry, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, has arrived in Liberia, ahead of the inaugural ceremony of its president and vice-president.

The event is scheduled to take place on Monday January 22, 2018, and in that respect, several heads of state and dignitaries have been invited, including President Nana Akufo-Addo.

On the eve of the ceremony, Archbishop Duncan-Williams, together with his wife, Rosa Whitaker, have been captured in images, exchanging pleasantries with Liberia’s incoming leaders.

He also took the opportunity to bless them, by sprinkling of water and washing of their feet.

George Oppong-Weah, and the vice-president elect of Liberia, came out tops in a hotly contested election held on October 10, 2017. A second round saw him go head to head with the incumbent vice president, Joseph Boakai, after which he was declared winner, together with his running mate, Jewel Taylor.

The 2017 elections were overseen by the Liberia’s National Elections Commission (NEC), and is seen as the first to be run by the government and the security forces, since the end of the civil wars in 2003.
