The Ghana Armed Forces has received a donation of thirty computers and accessories valued at over $37,000 from Life liberty Foundation, a non-governmental organisation.

The computers were presented by Ms Cathie Ashong on behalf of the Chief Executive of the NGO, Dr. Kwesi Osei Bonsu, and received by the Minister for Defence, Dr. Kwame Addo Kufuor, on behalf of the Ghana Armed Forces.

Present at the function were the Chief of Defence Staff, Lt. Gen. Seth Kofi Obeng, Service Commanders and other senior officers.

In a speech read on his behalf, Dr. Osei Bonsu praised the Ghana Armed Forces for its peacekeeping roles, both internal and external. He said the donation was in response to government's call to help make the positive change needed to propel the nation to a middle-income level.

Dr. Osei Bonsu disclosed that Life Liberty Foundation was putting up a hospital to provide the health needs of the people and appealed to others to continue their quota to the nation.

Dr. Addo-Kufuor said the computers would help a lot in stocking a computer laboratory that the Armed Forces will soon put up to improve computer literacy within the force and prepare retiring soldiers for resettlement. He thanked them for their gesture.
