This latest attack adds to a series of robberies that residents say are linked to the poor state of the road.
A former Member of Parliament for the Jaman North Constituency, Mahama Afful, previously survived a similar ordeal on the same stretch.
In October, the Member of Parliament for Berekum West, Dickson Kyere Dua, toured the road with police and assured residents that security barriers would be installed to deter criminals. Construction firm Rango Construction Ltd was also expected to accelerate work on the corridor.

However, the promised security barriers are yet to be installed, and road construction continues to progress slowly.
With robberies recurring and travellers increasingly anxious, residents are urging authorities to intensify police patrols and speed up construction to restore safety along the route.
