Armed robber shot dead at Dominibo Number Two

Bibiani (W/R), March 21, GNA - A petrol filling station attendant shot dead one member of a gang of three armed robbers who attacked the filling station at Dominibo Number Two near Bibiani in the Western Region. Briefing the GNA on the incident at Bibiani, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Felix Toya, Bibiani District Police Commander, said on February 18, this year, at midnight, three armed robbers seized a taxicab belonging to one Abraham Ofori at Hwenampori, a suburb of Bibiani. He said during a struggle, the robbers shot the taxi driver but he did not die.

According to ASP Toya, at 0200 hours, the robbers drove to Dominibo Number Two near Bibiani and attacked a petrol station filling attendant, Sumaila Mohammed. The police commander said the robbers shot Sumaila and wounded him but he replied the fire killing one of them instantly while the other two managed to escape, abandoning the vehicle. He said the two robbers who had earlier ransacked Sumaila's room, escaped with cash of 600,000 cedis, 50,000 CFA Francs and three pieces of suiting material.

ASP Toya said the body of the deceased had been deposited at the Bibiani Government Hospital for autopsy. Meanwhile, Sumaila is still on admission at the same hospital.
