Yendi, (NR) Sept. 26, GNA - Armed robbers on Sunday attacked market women and other passengers who were travelling from Kpasa and Kpandai to the Saboba market.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Yendi, the Saboba District NADMO Coordinator, Mr. Peter Baanu Adam, said he saw the armed robbers between Sunson and Nashie on the Wapuli-Yendi Road, who had stopped two Benz buses and a Pick-up vehicle to rob the passengers of their money, phones and other valuables, on his way to Yendi from Saboba.

Mr. Peter Baanu described the robbers as “six Fulani herdsmen, two of them with riffles and the rest holding knives.”

The passengers were, however, not harmed.

He said immediately he left the scene he went to the Yendi Police Station Charge Office and reported to the duty staff.

According to him, the Yendi Police went to the crime scene but the robbers had bolted.

Some of the victims, however, said though the robbers were Fulani Herdsmen, they were five and three of them had riffles.

Some of the victims appealed to the Government to take serious measures about the Fulani Herdsmen who have turned into armed robbers across the country.

They said there had been series of robberies in some parts of the country and most of the robbers were said to be Fulani herdsmen.

Meanwhile, the Saboba Police in the Saboba District of Northern Region have intensified patrols in the area, and the Yendi police would also join them in the patrols
