Dr. Arthur Kennedy has described as ‘premature’ the assertion that Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo will be contesting the 2016 presidential slot on the ticket of the party.

The General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, popularly known as Sir John, said in an interview on Kumasi based Hello FM that their 2012 presidential aspirant will be contesting for the 2016 elections.

The NPP scribe said “Nana Addo will lead NPP even if he is in a wheelchair,” giving strong indications that nothing will change his candidature.

However, speaking in an interview on Citi Eyewitness news, Dr Kennedy said Nana Addo should be allowed to rest just as he (Nana) indicated when he conceded defeat; following the Supreme Court ruling.

“I think that those comments were premature. Nana Addo himself said he needs some time to rest and reflect on his political future and I think that he deserves some space and some time to reflect on his future,” he indicated.
