Delegates of the Asante-Akim Central Constituency Conference of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have retained the entire constituency executives.
Mr. Francis Bright Appiah-Adu, Chairman, and the other officers were retained un-opposed by the 470 delegates during the constituency elections.
They would run the affairs of the party for another four years.
The Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Mr. Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi, said it was an important step in the battle to re-capture political power in the 2016 general polls.
He called for hardwork, sacrifice and unity of purpose, telling the members and supporters to avoid needless distractions.
Their focus, he said, should be on helping voters to have a better understanding of the NPP’s ideology to win them over.
Mr. Anyimadu-Antwi said the expectation was that every one of them would put the party’s interest ahead of individual ambitions.
The Ashanti Regional Organizer of the NPP, Mr. Kennedy Kankam, urged all to use the party’s internal conflict resolution mechanism to deal with any disagreement or misunderstanding.
Mr Kankam stressed the need for members to forge a solid front, urging them to avoid internal power struggle and turf fights.
