Police officers who hail from the Ashanti Region have donated GHC 80,000 to support Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s Heal Komfo Anokye Project.
COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah (Mrs.), a Senior Police Officer at the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO), led the delegation to the Palace of the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to donate towards the project.
She indicated that the donation was from officers still in service and retirees who hail from Asanteman.
“We are Police officers from the Ashanti Region and those who have worked in the Region. Our colleague Owusu, who used to work here and is now in the Volta Region, prompted us to join the mobilization efforts of the King."
"We all agreed that we needed to do our part to ensure that we also contributed to what the King was doing. Every officer, both senior and junior officers, from the region, as well as those who are on retirement, donated to support. So today we are here to present an amount of Ghc 80,000 to support the Heal Komfo Anokye project,” she said.
She used the opportunity to thank Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for his wise counsel over these years and assured him that they would continue to undertake their duties in the police service with diligence.
Maame Tiwaa Addo Danquah also used the platform to assure Otumfuo Osei Tutu that the officers would continue to work with professionalism.
“We can assure you that, as your children, we will not engage in anything that will bring shame to your revered name. Even as we go into an election, we promise to ensure that there is peace during and after the election,” she said.
Heal Komfo Anokye Project:
The Heal Komfo Anokye Project seeks to address the urgent need for infrastructural improvement at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Ghana’s second-largest teaching hospital, which receives referrals from 12 out of the 16 regions of Ghana.
Despite its reputation for providing quality and affordable healthcare services and conducting groundbreaking research, KATH faces serious infrastructural challenges that affect service delivery to patients, visitors, and staff.
The Asantehene 25th Anniversary Legacy Projects, as part of its impact mission, is mobilising resources and funding to implement a comprehensive solution that will improve Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital’s (KATH) infrastructure and ensure that it continues to provide a more functional and efficient hospital environment that promotes healing, comfort, and safety for the people of Ashanti Region and beyond.
