Aspiring Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Asare Bediako has accused his contender in the race and incumbent Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Bosiako of causing the current division in the party, MYNEWSGH.com’s Ashanti Regional Correspondent reports.

Mr Asare Bediako believes things have not gone well in the region under the current chairman, Antwi-Boasiako (Wontumi), hence his decision to contest for the position to rescue leadership and members “from the quagmire”.

“It’s my dream that when I’m voted into power, I’ll make sure most foot soldiers get something better doing”, he promised in an interview on Kumasi based radio Angel FM monitored by MyNewsGh.com

“Truly speaking, it is not easy especially when the party is in opposition but whiles we are in power I will have to do all that I can to help”, the former Asokwa Constituency chairman added.

He again assured he will make sure foot soldiers are well catered for and further commended their tireless efforts to work for the party to come to power.

Mr. Bediako, however, accepted the fact that it is not possible to help everyone but extending a helping hand to some members will bring hope to others who may have been neglected in times past.

Meanwhile, MyNewsGh.com’s Kwabena Danso-Dapaah in the region reports the chairmanship race is getting messy and fiercer; and indications are that it might get worse if the national executives do not intervene swiftly.

It has been alleged some incumbent regional executives who are responsible for organizing the elections have expunged certain names from the delegates list believed to be loyalists of Mr. Asare Bediako and this is gradually heating up matters within the party.

We promise to keep you posted as development in the party unfolds in the region.
