The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has successfully brought the fire that engulfed the Ashaiman Toll Booth Area behind the China Mall in Accra on Monday, December 30, 2024, under control.

In a post shared by the Ghana Fire Service on their Facebook page, they confirmed that the situation had been successfully managed.

"Fire at Ashaiman Toll Booth Area behind the China Mall is currently under control. Multiple fire tenders are at the scene," the post stated.

The GNFS has recorded a total of 5,596 fire outbreaks between January and November of this year, compared to 5,258 during the same period the previous year, representing a 6.43 percent increase.

According to the Service, harsh weather conditions, non-compliance with fire safety measures by the public, road traffic accidents, electrical faults, and gas leakages are some of the main causes of fire outbreaks.
