Mr Sampson Kwaku Boafo, Ashanti Regional Minister, has said that the golden age of business is to quicken the pace of industrialisation and economic growth.

He said the government would offer assistance to ensure that the golden age of business becomes a reality.

Mr Boafo said this after touring the Bibiani Logging and Lumber Company (BLLC), Guinness Ghana Limited (GGL), AG Timbers and Habitat Timber Ghana Limited all in Kumasi on Friday.

At the Guinness Ghana Limited, Mr Delvin Hainsworth, the Managing director, expressed gratitude for the support the government has given to the company and gave assurance that it would continue to support individuals and groups.

Mr Nadim Bitar, Managing Director of Habitat, said though things have not been the same as compared to the past considering the economy of the country and the changes in the world market, they are still managing to survive as a company.

Mrs Comfort Joyce Wireko-Brobby, Managing Director of Bibiani Logging and Lumber said the main problems facing the company are lack of materials and access to credit facilities.

The Regional Minister said the visit was to interact with the management and staff of the companies to know their problems and how best they could be assisted.

He said if the government has declared a golden age of business, there should be greater co-operation and interaction between industry and the government to ensure its success.

Mr Boafo assured them of his co-operation and said he appreciates the efforts of the companies for the provision of social amenities they have embarked upon.

He said things needed to be streamlined and they should support the Government's avowed aim of zero tolerance for corruption
