Ashanti Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Andrews Nana Akwasi, has called for calm and responsible celebrations following the party's electoral success.

During an interaction with the media, following the declaration of John Dramani Mahama as the president elect, Nana Akwasi congratulated the president elect for assuming power with such a glorious comeback.

Expressing optimism of excellent delivery, the chairman emphasized the party's commitment to a peaceful transition of power while strongly condemning any acts of violence or looting.

He said the NDC party, which is law-abiding, would not tolerate vigilantism or lawlessness under the guise of political affiliation.

Chairman Nana Akwasi stated that the NDC intends to resume all stalled development projects in the region, viewing them as vital national assets. He warned against the destruction of public or private property, noting that any damage would necessitate costly repairs.

The statement further condemned reports of the current NPP government officials misappropriating state assets, including the alleged dismantling of buses for scrap. Akwasi stressed that such actions must cease, describing the act as evil.

He appealed to the police to swiftly deal with any individuals engaging in theft or vandalism.

Nana Akwasi concluded by urging supporters to celebrate responsibly and reiterating the party's dedication to upholding the law, even in the midst of the excitement surrounding their victory.
