Ashanti Regional Police Commander accused of being ‘incompetent’

The competence of the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, COP Ken Yeboah has been questioned by listeners of Kumasi based Nhyira FM morning show, with many saying the Commander appears not to be on top of issues of security bordering on officers and residents in the region.

Questions posed to him by during a one-one interview pertaining to an officer with Konongo Divisional Taskforce in the region who allegedly masterminded the killing of his girlfriend and later arrested for investigations, left the Police Boss fumbling and could not give full details, much to the disappointment of listeners.

Asked by the host to give an update on police investigations, the Regional Commander contradicted himself severally, MyNewsGh.com Ashanti Regional Correspondent Kwabena Danso-Dapaah reported.

“What do you want to Know? …the officer I am told he is there. ..I am also told he is working for the Police Service. …but let me verify”, the Commander pleaded for time.

“I have verified now and he is interdicted”, he told host of “Kroyimunsem” show on Nhyira FM in Kumasi.

Asked again why the officer has not been put before court for trial, COP Ken Yeboah answered: “The pathologist report suggested that the deceased hanged herself”.

But on the contrary, again, the Regional Commander said: “I have no knowledge about the report now because the stomach content of the deceased was sent to Food and Drugs Board if it a food poison”.

“But all I can confirm to you is that the Seargent Bright Opoku is innocent of the allegations”, he said, in what listeners found unbelievable.
