Ashgold job is a difficult task for C. K. Akunnor - Augustine Arhinful

Former Black Stars player, Augustine Arhinful is of the view C. K. Akunnor accepting to coach relegation threatened Ashgold is a tough task.

The former Dreams FC head coach took over the mantle after veteran coach Bashiru Hayford relinquished his position as the head coach of the club.

The Obuasi based have struggled to get the desired results in the Ghana Premier League. Akunnor led the team to secure a point in the match day 16 fixture of the GPL against Bolga All Stars.

Despite the bright start in the second half of the league, Arhinful believes Ashgold will be a tough task for his former play mate.

"I have taken a look at the league table and Ashgold are not in good position." He told Happy FM.

"It is difficult but I think everything is possible. I think the club allowing most of their players to leave has been the major cause of their woes.

"They have been able to recruit some players but it will take a while before they gel to together and I don't know who allow that to happen.

"I have been talking to him [C. K. Akunnor] and I gave him my words that I will support him because he was my captain and I think he will do the job for them but it is a difficult task for C. K. Akunnor." He added.

After match day 16, the Miners are currently at the 15th position with 13 points and will play Ebusua Dwarfs in the match day 17 fixture of the Ghana Premier League at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium on Sunday.
