Asiedu Nketia has no respect for Mahama - NPP Guru

A leading member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) believes General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has no respect for President John Dramani Mahama.

The NPP activist opines that for Asiedu Nketia to publicly petition President Mahama to reinstate the Ahafo Ano South District Chief Executive, Gabriel Barima, after a month of his dismissal from office is a clear indictment on the presidency.

Earlier this week, the governing NDC appealed to President Mahama to recall sacked ‘Tweaa’ DCE. In a statement issued on Sunday March 30, and signed by its Chief Scribe, the NDC asked the president to reconsider his decision.

The NDC NEC says the apparent unfortunate interview, which cost the DCE his job was not an interview, but rather a secretly recorded conversation, which was leaked to the press.

But speaking on Adom FM, Asamoah Gyamfi, who is a member of the Communications Team of the NPP, insisted that, “what Asiedu Nketia did was a show of total disrespect to the presidency. When the president takes a decision, you don’t openly come and advise him against it…you don’t do that. Even if he (Mosquito) feels the president could have gone about it in another way, he should have done so under the cover of darkness and not through an open letter.”

“I was shocked when I saw the letter (petition), I asked myself what is this…how? General Secretary challenging a president’s decision in public? Asiedu Nketia must be penalized. All he (Asiedu Nketia) is trying to say is that President Mahama is not on top of his work. This is total disrespect. The top hierarchy of the NDC must punish him,” Asamoah Gyamfi added.
