Brakwa (C/R), July 21, GNA- The Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa constituency executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Sunday held a meeting to iron out differences that arose among members after the primaries at Brakwa. Addressing the gathering Mr. Appiah-Ofori, Member of Parliament of the area and Parliamentary candidate for the 2008 elections, thanked members for putting the past behind them and attending the meeting. According to him, it was through the instrumentality of some of the former constituency executives that he joined the party in 1998 and was elected twice as the Parliamentary for the area.

Mr. Appiah-Ofori therefore urged the members to bury their differences and come together to campaign vigorously for the party's victory in the December general elections He said his doors were opened for ideas that would help him retain the seat and for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to win the Presidential slot.

He called for unity among the members since, according to him, without unity, understanding and peace; no meaningfully progress could take place.

Mr. Appiah Ofori appealed to the executives to "let a sleeping dog lie" because election is won on numbers. All the former executives who took turn to address the gathering appealed to the MP to investigate the rumours before acting on them, to avoid future division and misunderstanding in the party. Mr. Annan Eduful, former Constituency Chairman who chaired the meeting, urged members to forget what had taken place and put the party first, because together they would build a united front to win the December elections. He urged them to inform their relatives who had attained the age of 18 to register when the voters' register opens. As a sign of peace and unity a group picture was taken.
