Asikuma Omanhene appeal to President Kufuor to retain DCE

Breman Asikuma, March 1, GNA - The Omanhene of the Breman Asikuma Traditional Area, Nana Amoakwa Boadu, has called on President J A Kufuor to retain the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District Chief Executive Mr Sampson Kwame Anfako for the speedy development of the area. He said the retention of the DCE would facilitate the completion of projects initiated since 2001.

Nana Boadu noted the cordial relationship between the Chiefs and people of the area and the government since President Kufuor appointed Mr Anfako four years ago. The Omanhene who was flanked by Nana Afful-Nyankoe, Krontihene, Nana Kweku Essuon, Ankobeahene, Nana Ankamah, Kyidomhemaah and Abusuapanyin Nana Yaw Sam was speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Asikuma. He commended the government for implementing many projects in the area and stabilising the fragile economy.

Nana Boadu said the Traditional Council had added its voice to the people and the District Assembly in appealing to the President to retain the DCE having realised Mr Anfako's performance in his first four years. The Omanhene stressed the need to foster good relations between the DCE and the MP for the area Mr P C Appiah-Ofori to ensure the rapid development of the district and peace. He expressed the readiness of the Chiefs to lead in the efforts to reconcile the DCE.
