The ministry said it contacted the Special Prosecutor directly and discovered that the alleged assassination attempt occurred prior to 2025.
The statement also noted that the incident was not reported to any security agencies, and there are no records indicating otherwise.
“Initial contacts with Mr Kissi Agyebeng have revealed that the assassination attempts on him, as claimed, happened before this year. There is no record or report of such threats against his life at any police station or at any of the state security agencies in the country,” it stated.
Meanwhile, the ministry has stated that it is investigating the alleged assassination attempt on Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng, as well as the reported police assault on Sammy Darko.
The investigation follows revelations by the OSP’s Director of Research, Communications, and Strategy, Sammy Darko, on a JoyNews programme on Saturday, December 6, 2025.
On the show, Darko shared details of how personnel at the office frequently face life-threatening situations in the course of their work.
He claimed that Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng has allegedly survived two attempts on his life and he (Darko), has also faced similar dangers when he was beaten by policemen who outnumbered him.
He also noted that the OSP’s investigations often involve powerful individuals, making the work inherently dangerous.

“People need to understand the gravity of what we are doing. This is not an office that works behind a desk; we face real threats every day in the course of our duties,” he added.
