A directive by the Auditor-General, Daniel Yaw Domelevo, has spurred an action by the Abura Asebu Kwamankese District Assembly against its former Chief Executive, Frank Pratt, whom it is believed, is in possession of some assets of the Assembly.

The Assembly, kasapafmonline.com understands, has got in touch with Mr. Pratt to return a gas cooker and a center table belonging to the Assembly which is valued at GH?2,720.00.

The gas cooker is valued at GH?1,880.00 while that of the center table costs GH?840.00.

These items, according to the Auditor-General in his supplementary report on the Management and Utilisation of District Assemblies’ Common Fund and other Statutory Funds for the year ended December 31, 2018, were allocated to the Assembly’s residence during the tenure of Mr. Pratt but could not be traced.

The assets, the Auditor-General added, were not embossed before they were released to the DCE’s residence for use.

The report attributed the occurrence to failure on the part of the Assembly’s management in ensuring that the former DCE properly handed over all Assembly assets in his possession before leaving office.

Management of the Assembly, the report noted, explained that the former DCE did not account for the assets in his possession at the time he was leaving the Bungalow.

“We recommended to management to ensure the assets are retrieved from the former DCE, Hon. Frank Pratt without delay, failing of which the amount of GH?2,720.00 should be recovered from him. We further recommended to the management of the Assembly to ensure that all assets of the Assembly are embossed to safeguard them”, the report in part read.
