Winneba, July 27, GNA - Mr Solomon Kwashie Abbam-Quaye, District Chief Executive for Awutu-Effutu-Senya, on Wednesday urged Assembly members to involve all shades of opinion and the various local government structures in their operations as a way of accelerating development.

He emphasised the need to tap the strength, wisdom and intellect of traditional authorities, members of Parliament, Assembly members and heads of departments in the area to speed up development. The DCE was outlining his vision for the District at a meeting with members of the Assembly at the National Sports College at Winneba. "For the work of the House to succeed we should involve all shades of opinion, especially chiefs, heads of government departments, institutions, corporations, agencies and the various local government structures in our operations," he told the Assembly members. Mr Abbam-Quaye charged them to play active roles in revenue collection to enable the Assembly to fulfil its social responsibilities to the communities.

He said the focus of the Assembly would be to rehabilitate all physical structures, which had been neglected over the years. Mr Kwesi Esseku, Presiding Member, charged members to perform the roles required of them to promote good governance and effective private sector development. Mr Esseku urged the Assembly members to educate the people in the communities on the need to pay their taxes and proper environmental sanitation to ensure meaningful revenue collection and curtail preventable diseases.
