Former Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Anthony Abayifa Karbo, has rubbished Stephen Atubiga’s claim that he as well as two others should be arrested for allegedly making contemptuous statements concerning the ongoing election petition.
Stephen Atubiga, a member of the communication team of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), who just finished serving a three-day jail term for making contemptuous comments concerning the ongoing election petition is calling on the nine judges of the Supreme Court sitting on the case (election petition) to sermon the trio namely: Anthony Abayifa Karbo, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, popularly known as Sir John, General Secretary of the NPP and Atta Kyea, a lawyer for making similar comments.
Speaking in an interview on Peace FM, Karbo stated categorically that he has never made any contemptuous statement to be summoned to the Supreme Court.
“When he was sentenced, we were all sympathizing with him and now that he has been released, he wants the judges to also summon me. He does not know what he is talking about. I thank God the judges are not at the beck and call of Stephen Atubiga and so no one will be summoned. There is no need to pay attention to such statements,” he added.
