Atwima-Asenemaso Street Lighting Project On Course

Asenemaso (Ash) Work is progressing on the construction of street lights at Atwima-Asenemaso to improve upon the lighting system. The project, costing five million cedis, also covers the erection of four low-tension poles to facilitate the extension of electricity to the new site of the town. Briefing newsmen during an inspection of the project, Nana Owusu Adade, chairman of the town's unit committee, urged all citizens to place all available resources at the disposal of the committee to ensure a successful execution of the project. He thanked the Atwima District Assembly for providing the town with 200 bags of cement and a number of boards and scantlings to assist in the construction of a vault chamber and a place of convenience under the Ghana government and European Union Micro-Projects programme. Mr Kwaku Osei-Barima, secretary of the committee, stressed the need for residents to always attach importance to environmental cleanliness. He warned hawkers to desist from throwing litter indiscriminately into gutters adding that offenders would be sanctioned.
