Kumasi, April 2, GNA - The Atwima-Kwanwoma Rural Bank is to pay interest on current accounts every quarter of the year.
The bank is also taking steps to reduce the Commission on turnover (COT) charges, give concessionary rates and grant a waiver on the accounts of every good turnover account.
Mr Godfried Odame-Asare, Supervising Manager of the bank disclosed at a cocktail organised for its valued customers in Kumasi last Friday. It was to create an avenue for interaction between the Management, Board and customers to share ideas for improving the bank.
Mr Odame-Asare said by the end of February this year, the bank had mobilised 6.6 billion cedis in deposits and 8.2 billion cedes assets. Mr George Kyei Baffour, Chairman of the Board of Directors, said the bank has earmarked 25 million cedes for development projects within its area of operation as against about 15 million cedis last year.
The bank gave 30 million cedis for the provision of furniture and the rehabilitation of seven schools. Mr Kyei-Baffour urged customers and people within its area of operation to patronise the bank to enable it undertake more development projects.
The bank, which commenced business in September 1983, has four agencies at Santasi, Old Tafo, New Tafo, all in Kumasi and its head-office at Pakyi Number Two in Ashanti.
Naana Hayford, a presenter at Fox FM radio station in Kumasi and a customer of the bank, was among the 40 valued customers of the bank and were presented with certificates of recognition and wall clocks with the bank's logo.
