Auditor General, Daniel Yao Domelevo, has disclosed that his outfit has issued management audits for two road contracts granted by government that have ‘raised some eyebrows’.

He said when ready, the audit report for the two roads will go before Parliament.

“Two weeks ago, we issued a management audit letter to the Ministry of Roads to respond on the matter and we are giving them 30 days to respond and should their response not come after 30 days, the Audit Service will issue its own audit report for the public to see the results,” Domelevo said.

“According to Section 23 of the Audit Service Act, immediately I hand over my audit report to the Speaker of Parliament, I am supposed to publish it to the Ghanaian people,” he added.

Speaking on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show on November 5, the Auditor General noted that the concerns of the two road contracts issued by government came from the citizenry but allows the Audit Service to follow up on such concerns raised by the public.

“In accordance with Regulation 55 of the Audit Service Regulation, we [Audit Service] are supposed to get information from the public and make the necessary follow-ups on their concerns,” he added.
