Accra, Feb. 2, GNA - An auto-mechanic, who sneaked into the Ridge branch of the Barclays Bank Ghana Limited, to steal two flat screen computers and a Computer Central Process Unit valued at GH¢4,200 was on Monday sentenced to four years imprisonment by a Circuit Court in Accra. Michael Kwesi Osei pleaded guilty to unlawful entry and stealing and the court presided over by Mrs Ivy Heward-Mills convicted him accordingly. The case as presented by Chief Inspector Ben Darfour was that Phillip Kweku Zigah the complainant is a security guard of Westec Security Company attached to the bank.

Chief Inspector Darfour said on January 7, this year at about 0300 hours the complainant was on duty at the Business Banking Centre with a witness in the case when Osei sneaked into the banking hall and took two siemens flat screen computer monitors and the computer processing unit and tied them with a rope. Prosecution said while conveying the equipment out, Zigah and the witness spotted the convict. Osei, sensing danger, abandoned the items and took to his heel but Zigah and the witness chased him and apprehended him. When he was quizzed, Osei admitted the offence.
