The Director of Operations of the Ghana Police Service has reminded the personnel to make discipline the watch word and avoid doing anything unethical.

Commissioner of Police (COP) Dr. George Dampare said this was important as they took steps to transform the service, to rank it among the best in the world.

He was addressing the passing out parade of 435 general recruits held at the Koforidua Police Training School.

He asked that everybody became part of the transformation agenda being pursued by the Police Administration to raise policing in the country to world-class standard.

COP Dampare urged them to be courteous, accept to conduct themselves within the law and to respect the fundamental human rights of suspects.

He added that they should be firm and even-handed in the performance of their duties.

He used the occasion to talk parents and members of the family out of putting pressure on the recruits, saying, they should rather support them to succeed in their new career.

COP Dampare congratulated the recruits for successfully going through the training.

General Recruit Linus Abbey was adjudged the best recruit, with the academic and best marksman awards given to Solomon Dery, and Francis Agyei, respectively.
