Police have charged two members of the 'Let My Vote Count Alliance' for breach of the Public Order Act.

Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sammy Awuku and the Youth Organiser of the Peoples National Convention Abu Ramadan were given a self recognisance bail to report to the police on Thursday.

The leaders of the Alliance were invited for questioning after they organised a rally at Dome-Kwabenya in Accra without notifying the police and in breach of the Public Order Act.

The rally was to educate the public on the petition filed by leaders of the NPP at the Supreme Court over allegations of fraud in the 2012 December elections.

Joy News has learnt that leaders of the Alliance failed to reach an amicable settlement with the police.

Ramadan and Awuku were both charged late on but the others, including, David Asante, Kwabena Bonfeh were cautioned and discharged.

The two are to appear before court.
