Ayawaso North MP donates to support girl child education

Member of Parliament for Ayawaso North Hon Yussif Jajah has donated  ghc2000 to Achievers Education Ghana, a charity organisation in his constituency. 

The young NDC lawmaker made the presentation on Tuesday  in support of Girl Child education, as the organisation aims to provide education support for some 350  girl

The organisation, through its aim, had  launched a campaign for the 2018/2019 academic year dubbed "back to school supplies to Girls in need",  a project the MP described "a step in the right direction"

"This project is in the right direction as it prioritizes girl education in this constituency of ours," he said.

"As the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso North, the Girl Child Euction project  has my full support since it will  alleviate the suffering of parents.

"This  will go a long way to promote the education of the girl child in this constituency."

He commended the management of the organisation for taking the initiative to improve education and pointed out the his readiness to assist them in any way he can to uplift the image of the community and the constituency as a whole.

"This 2000gh donation is only for the 2018/19 academic year which we hope to give more in the subsequent years.

"I am delighted to present amount as a token of my support to ensuring that we train these pupils to become useful citizens in future’’,

Hon Yussif Jajah urged the school children to take their studies seriously if they would want to become useful to their family, community and country in future.

Tuesday's donation adds up to what the MP has given out in cash and stocks to a range of charitable causes.

Prior to this donation, the MP had given scholarships to 100 students in the Ayawaso North Constituency as well as donations in the form of other education facilities such as desks and mathematical sets to some schools.

He has initiated and sponsored an ongoing gala tournament with the aim of unearthing talents for the nation.

All these, he said forms part of his plans to "develop the constituency through education and Sports"
