Countless questions remain unanswered about the recent clashes that disrupted the voting process at the La Bawaleshie Center during the Ayawaso West Wuogon polls.

Following protests from citizens, pressure from Civil Service Organisations and questions from the media, it appears there is much more to be unravelled as far as circumstances that led to the violence is concerned.

The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the IGP, David Asante Apeatu and the National security, headed by Bryan Acheampong are the three major persons who have been under ‘heat’ since the incident occurred.

On their part, President Akufo-Addo has condemned the violence in a statement, the IGP has organized his men to begin delving into the issues through a committee, and Bryan Acheampong has also been responding to questions about the subject.

But several other videos have been sighted after the event, most of them containing some details which may not necessarily have been captured in previous videos that emerged from the scene Thursday.

Some of the videos show some young men being kicked and manhandled by these brown attired men. One vividly shows about 15 of these men, ‘pouncing’ on a young man and giving him a sound beating.

A relatively ‘new’ video shows one of the uniformed men who punched Ningo Prampram MP, Sam George saying ‘The beginning of 2020, I swear to God’.

This raises a lot of questions, questions as to why that statement was made? Whether or not there is some available intelligence being hidden from the public, whether or not party ‘boys’ have anything to do with this or whether or not and whether or not there is some ‘plot’ for the 2020 polls.

Meanwhile, although Member of State in Charge of Security, Bryan Acheampong has admitted the men involved in Thursday’s happenings are national security operatives, he insists they were tasked to locate and diffuse ‘undesirable things’ that still have not been ‘figured out’.

Until that is sorted he says, this ‘has not ended”.

“The information we have goes beyond the by-elections that we just witnessed. It’s a massive operation of movement of some things which are undesirable to the public and it is something that per information that we’ve received has not ended. Our men are actively engaged in unravelling the thing that we suspect it is. It has not ended, when it ends and we deem it fit to apprise the public of that information, we will”, he said in an interview with JoyNews.
