As many shower praises on the exceptional performance put up by the former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Hon. Nii Ayikoi Otoo, to save Sir John and Hopeson Adorye at the Supreme Court, a member of the communication team of the NPP, Opoku Davies, has urged Lawyer Ayikoi Otoo to consider climbing the highest ladder of the party.

According to him, the legal luminary has portrayed his disciplinary nature in the party which qualifies him to take up the chairmanship position in the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Though the ace lawyer did not lead the counsel for the petitioners to battle the 2012 election petition at the Supreme Court, he took the advisory role whenever Philip Addison called on him to seek directions as the case built up in court.

Appreciating the effort of Lawyer Ayikoi Otoo, the NPP communicator said the former A-G and Minister of Justice saved the New Patriotic Party (NPP) with his incomparable performance at the Supreme Court; in that, the situation would have been disastrous to see the head of administration of NPP behind bars while the party await the final verdict on 29th August 2013.

Speaking on Okay FM, he reiterated that Lawyer Ayikoi Otoo succeeded in saving the party from going down to prison with Sir John.

To him, the disgrace which the lawyer prevented would not have come to Sir John alone, but to the entire party because he is the head of administration of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He, therefore, said that “there are young people in NPP who are ready to put pressure on him to contest the chairmanship position; though this is not to say that the current leaders have done something wrong, he should consider the offer as we progress in the party and the youth will rally behind him”.
