Member of Parliament for North Tongu and Ranking Member for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has criticized seriously the statement of Ghana's High Commissioner to South Africa, Mr. George Ayisi-Boateng as a breach of Oath of Office.

The High Commissioner stated that his topmost priority in South Africa is to help solve the problems of members of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) before any other Ghanaian.

He revealed this at a ceremony to usher in fresh students of Kumasi Technical University into the Tertiary Students Confederacy Network (TESCON) of the governing New Patriotic Party on Sunday, October 29, 2017 in Kumasi.

However, the MP has taken a stern position on the Diplomat’s submission; explaining that his comments violate the 1992 Constitution which states that all person should be treated equally and fairly. Therefore, H. E. George Ayisi Boateng must resign.

Speaking on Atinka Evening News Monday, Okudzeto Ablakwa pointed out that the High Commissioner is not performing duties as NPP stalwart rather a public figure whose utterances must be nationalistic in nature.

Consequently, his comments should not be characterized with segregation, selective justice and divide and rule particularly as you take an Oath of Office to do good to all people.

And that the most striking issue is the that H.E. George Ayisi Boateng is being taken care of in South Africa with taxes paid by all Ghanaians and not NPP people, hence giving priority to party faithfuls must be condemned on all fronts.
