YEN.com.gh has sighted a video of boxer Ayittey Powers and popular comedian, Baba Spirit, fighting in the studios of an Accra-based TV station.

The video was sighted on the Instagram page of popular blogger, Ameyaw Debrah. Ayittey Powers, born Micheal Ayittey Okine, had gone to the studios as a guest for an interview.

And it seems Baba Spirit was also on set as co-guest, but all of a sudden Ayittey Powers became angry, got up and started beating him.

He started his fight with a warning speaking in the Akan language: “If I knew you were going to invite this boy here, I wouldn’t have come in the first place.”

He then launched a fierce attack on Baba Spirit who was still sitting helplessly. This got the host of the show, Sokoohemaa, very frightened and alarmed that she started screaming for help.

But the for timely intervention of the camera men and others who heard the cry for help, Baba Spirit would have been in a dangerous health condition by now.

From the way Ayittey was beating him, it could be sensed that Ayittey had for a long time mean to beat Baba Spirit.

In the local parlance it is often said that “He had him on his wanted list for long” It is not clear what led to this new fight, but checks by YEN.com.gh revealed that this is not the first time Ayittey Powers and Baba Spirit have engaged in a banter.

In July last year, they clashed in the studios of an Accra-based FM station. Baba Spirit had mocked Ayittey Powers after he lost woefully to Bukom Banku in a fight, and even went on to say that as slim as he is, he could easily beat Powers too.

He also asserted that Ayittey is so weak that even his wife beats him. This really infuriated Ayittey Powers, who warned Baba to be very careful of him.

Perhaps, Baba had not been careful enough, or may be he had forgotten that stern warning, resulting in his latest beating. But some fans have condemned Ayittey Powers actions, with some calling for his arrest.
