B/A NDC elects regional women and youth organisers

Mr Eric Opoku, Brong- Ahafo Regional Minister, has reiterated the need for the sustenance of the existing love, peace and unity in the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Mr Opoku, speaking at the Party’s Regional Delegates Congress to elect regional women and youth organisers and their deputies on Thursday in Sunyani lauded the delegates for their composure during the elections, noting that their attitude and actions connoted true democracy.

He, therefore, urged the delegates to depict same attitude and composure at their subsequent regional elections.

Nana Adwoa Takyiwaa II, an incumbent, was re-elected as the Regional Women’s Organizer with 47 votes out of the total 60 valid votes cast while her contender, Ms Grace Boakye had 13 votes.

For the Deputy Women’s Organizer, Georgina Puopiel won with 49 votes to beat fellow contestant, Intene Adams, 34, Fatimatu Abubakar, 15, Deborah Naah, 13 and Joyce Owusu Achiaa, two votes.

The contestants for the Regional Youth Organizers were Sise Ahmed Nurudin, Kwadwo Takyi- Arhin, Mahama Idrisu and Bilal Mlazu Sulemana.

Takyi-Arhin was elected as the Regional Youth Organizer with 29 votes out 77 valid votes cast, Sulemana had 26, Nurudin got 23 while Idrisu came last with no vote.

Nana Adwoa Takyiwaa II, in an acceptance speech, appealed to all party members to join hands and work tirelessly to ensure success in the Election 2016.
