BAYA donates to Sunyani Municipal Hospital

The Amsterdam South East Council and the Amsterdam Chapter of the Brong Ahafo Youth Association, has presented medical equipment worth about ?2.5 billion cedis to the Sunyani Municipal Hospital.

The items included wheel chairs, cotton, needles, chairs, file shells, operation tables, surgical equipment among others.

Nana Kwame Aning alias ?TYCO?, Chairman of the Association who presented the items said the association donated the items to support the region provide effective health delivery as pledged by Mrs Elvira Sweet, mayor of Amsterdam South East Council when she visited some time ago.

He thanked the Municipal Hospital and the Assembly for the various roles they played in clearing the goods from the port.

Mr Kwame Awuah Twumasi, the Municipal Chiefs Executive, who received the items on behalf of the hospital, thanked the association saying ?the equipment would enhance health delivery in the municipality? .

According to the municipal chief executive, the equipment would strengthen the National Health Insurance Scheme in the Municipality.

Dr Samuel Dogbe, the Sunyani Medical Superintendent of the Municipal Hospital also thanked the Association and the mayor Mrs Elvira Sweet for their kind gesture and asked for more assistance.
