Cape Coast, June 4, GNA - The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), a global broadcasting network on Wednesday broadcasted its "Focus on Africa" and "Africa have your say" programmes live from the studios of Atlantic (ATL FM) in Cape Coast.
ATL FM is a local radio station located at the University of Cape Coast. The broadcast heralded a partnership agreement with the two media houses. The Business Development Manager of BBC, Mr Steve Martin said the partnership had offered ATL FM the
opportunity to reach listeners across the Central Region and the nation w ith the new programmes and to
provide better services with modern equipment. He said the partnership agreement would facilitate the dissemination
and broadcast of relevant stories
from the local communities. Mr Martin said the partnership include training programmes for the staff of ATL and installation of
equipment to ensure smooth transmission. Mr Michael Yao Wodui Serwornoo, Deputy Station Manager and the Affiliate Liaison Officer for ATL FM
noted that BBC has 235 million listeners worldwide and would therefore of fer Cape Coast the opportunity to
come to the international lime light. He noted that the agreement would underline the position of ATL as t he only radio station that provides Cape Coast with international news. Mr Serwornoo said ATL FM was looking forward to staff exchange programmes between the two
organisations.
