Kumasi Asante Kotoko have been handed a massive boost ahead of Sunday’s Superclash with sworn rivals Accra Hearts of Oak after medics of the club declared Baba Mahama fit for the duel.

The midfield gem suffered several cuts and bruises in Kotoko’s fatal accident that has kept the Porcupines inactive for over three weeks.

At a media gathering on Tuesday, Asante Kotoko Team Doctor, Michael Leat announced that the former Techiman City playmaker is fit and ready for the match.

“I won’t force any player to play when he’s not fit, they are OK, that’s why we decided to play on Sunday” the club’s medical officer Michael Leat told reporters.

“Baba Mahama will be ready on Sunday, he’s fit to play”.

“The players are fit to play on Sunday, except Ollenu and Akuffo”

The preparedness of Kotoko for the game was in doubt.

But the medical team has thoroughly examined every player. They have consequently declared most of them fit to play with few exceptions like midfielders Michael Akuffu and Ollennu Ashitey.
