A newborn has reportedly died at the Children’s Hospital in Accra due to a lack of oxygen.
The facility has run out of oxygen for its incubators to support the survival of babies.
The development has exposed many newborns to risk of dying.
Parents of babies and health workers at the hospital are worried about the situation.
A father who visited the facility with his baby told Starr News’ Esi Benewaah Nyame that he was turned away by nurses of the hospital after he went there with his child for treatment.
According to him, the situation is scary and must be fixed immediately.
“I took my child there and they told me that there was no oxygen and all the patients there also told me the same thing...so all the patients were referred to 37 Hospital or Ridge Hospital”.
But the Administrator of the hospital Francisca Sefakor Kumhor has told Starr News that measures are being put in place to ensure that the situation is rectified immediately.
