Bagabaga launches 70th anniversary

Bagabaga College of Education (BACE) has launched its 70th anniversary to celebrate its contributions to teacher education in northern Ghana and the development of the country as a whole.

Alhaji Inusah Fuseini, the Minister for Roads and Highways who launched the anniversary at BACE’s campus in, commended BACE for its pioneering role in ensuring quality teacher education in the country.

Alhaji Fuseini, who is an alumnus of BACE, called on the alumni of BACE to contribute to strengthening the infrastructure of BACE to enable it to maintain its enviable record of being a citadel of teacher education in the country.

He appealed to students to take their lessons seriously saying “Nothing is impossible when one is educated.”

In a speech read on his behalf Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna, Northern Regional Minister, urged teachers to improve their performance especially at the second cycle level to raise the standard of education in the Region.

Alhaji Limuna assured that government would continue to expand educational infrastructure across the country to ensure access to education for all.

Alhaji Adam Zakaria, Principal of BACE, said the 70th anniversary celebration was also to raise the image of education in northern Ghana through teacher education as well as further propagate the achievements of the school.

BACE was set up in 1944 and its 70th anniversary would be climaxed in November.
