Unknown persons have reportedly smeared the surroundings of the Seventh Day Adventists Basic School in Nungua of the Greater Accra region with faecal matter.

The situation has left pupils unable to get into their classrooms, according to report on Monday.

It is affecting smooth academic work as the pupils were about to start their end-of-term examinations, Sandra Afenu reported.

“It is very unfortunate. We ask authorities to come and investigate this,” she pleaded.

The Headmistress of the junior high school section, Comfort Johnson, has blamed the incident on the youth in the area.

According to her, they play football every morning on the school’s park while others visit the campus in the night “to do their immoral things”.

She, however, indicated that the school has not been at logger heads with anybody to deserve such "treatment".

Meanwhile, waste management company, Zoomlion, has sent workers to the school to clear the mess. They gave the undertaking that the classrooms would be cleared as early as possible to allow the pupils to get back to studies.

Municpal Chief Executive of the Ledzokuku-Krowor Municipal Assembly (LEKMA), Daniel Amartey Mensah, has assured parents and the school that work by the Zoomlion staff will be done quickly for the exams to start.

Speaking to Sandra Afebu, he gave strong indications that the perpetrators will be brought to book.
