The Third National Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Masawudu Osman, has called on the supporters of the party not to relent as chaos erupts at some collation centers of the Electoral Commission (EC) over the parliamentary results.

He called on the NPP members to also show up at the various collation centers and fight for the party as supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have been mounting pressure on EC officials to declare results.

Addressing supporters on the happenings regarding the 2024 general elections, Masawudu Osman warned that the NDC Deputy National Communications Officer, Malik Basintale, cannot intimidate NPP members despite his party winning the presidential elections.

“The men in NPP, come out. As the Vice Chairman of the NPP in charge of operations at the headquarters, I will not stand by and allow my people to be intimidated. Come out from all the regions, and seek revenge from tomorrow to Friday. Anybody who has a gun, go and bring it out.

“We will not allow Basintale to instill fear and panic in our people. I am telling you, I will end by telling Ghanaians that you all know how much NPP loves peace. That is the reason why we conceded defeat earlier. But it seems that the NDC does not appreciate our effort. If they don't appreciate our effort, we will show them that we are more hooligans than them,” he said.

This comes as chaotic incidents have been recorded at various collation centers as the EC continues to collate results of some parliamentary elections that are in contention.

The Electoral Commission (EC) Chairperson declared the results of the 2024 general elections on December 9, 2024.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, emerged as the winner, garnering 6,328,397 votes, representing 56.55%, while the New Patriotic Party Flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, finished second with 4,657,304 votes, representing 41.61%.

The NPP also lost most of their parliamentary seats, with some of their bigwigs like KT Hammond, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Henry Quartey, being major victims.
