The Bawku Presbyterian hospital has denied recording any suspected coronavirus cases as being circulated on social media.

A press statement signed by the General Manager, Kwaku Fianko Gyan, said the facility had not recorded any confirmed case of coronavirus.

“Our attention has been drawn to a report with various list of individuals circulating on social media regarding a suspected case of COVID-19. Management of the hospital wishes to state unequivocally that no such report has been communicated through any media be it print or electronic to the public,” the statement read.

The hospital also denied any form of association with the person responsible for disseminating the false information.

“The individual who leaked the information is not a staff of the Presbyterian hospital Bawku. He illegally accessed the information in its draft form at the blind side of a member of our team working on the report. The culprit has since confessed to his crime,” the statement added.
