The key witness in the election petition case, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on Thursday April 18, 2013 admitted to the Supreme Court during his cross examination by the president’s lawyer, Tony Lithur that he submitted to the court some pink sheets which were duplicated in different categories of alleged electoral malpractice.

Dr Bawumia however insisted he never used the duplicated pink sheets in doing his analysis, through which his party concluded that there were grievous omissions, malpractices and irregularities in the 2012 presidential election.

Dr Bawumia categorised four separate areas of alleged malpractice, irregularities and omissions.

They included over voting, unsigned pink sheets, voting without biometric verification and duplication of serial numbers on pink sheets.

In his evidence in chief led by the petitioners’ lawyer Philip Addison, Dr Bawumia insisted he never used any of the over 11,000 pink sheets in contention twice in his analysis as far as the four categories of alleged omissions, irregularities and malpractices were concerned.

Under cross examination however, Dr Bawumia repetitively admitted to the court that some of the pink sheets his team had tendered in evidence were categorised under different classes of alleged malpractice, irregularities and omission.

He however denied using the duplicated pink sheets for his analysis.
