The 2016 running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has urged Ghanaians to eschew violence, insults and personal attacks before, during and after the 2016 November General elections in the country.

According to him, this year’s electioneering campaign should be conducted in an atmosphere devoid of character assassination, insults, personal attacks and acrimony, but should be issue-based.

Speaking at the final funeral rites of the late chairman of Yagba-Kubori constituency, Mr. Joseph Dadoo Maleo aka DAD, the 2016 Vice Presidential Candidate of the NPP said all that parties in the country do is for the good interest of the nation thus to get power and to ensure a total development and implementation of their policies towards transforming Ghana and the citizenry.

He stated that Ghanaians are one people and should accept each other as such and embrace peace in the country to ensure we live cordially throughout the electioneering process.

He maintained that each and every Ghanaian must contribute his quota to ensuring that there is sustainable peace in the country.

Paying a glowing tribute to the late Yagba-Kubori chairman, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia described him as a disciplinarian, a dedicated and selfless patriot who was committed to seeing the party win power as well championing the total development of the constituency and Ghana at large.

He said the party has lost a great man who they will find it difficult to get someone fit into his position since his role in the party at both the constituency, regional and national level was enormous.

The late Mr. Joseph Dadoo Maleo aka DAD passed on last month after a short illness at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.

Northern Regional Chairman of the Party, Mr. Daniel Bugre Naabu also paid a glowing tribute to the late chairman and said he has missed an advisor a brother and a hardworking patriot.
