Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has joined millions of Ghanaians to mourn the death of dancehall artiste Ebony Reigns.
“My deepest condolences to the family of the songstress Priscilla Opoku-kwarteng known in the entertainment industry as @ebony_reigns and the families of the other two who lost their lives in the gory accident at Mankraso, last night. May their souls rest in peace,” he tweeted.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his immediate predecessor John Dramani Mahama, have also tweeted to mourn the award-winning artiste.
Ebony and two others died in a car crash on Thursday, 8 February 2018.
She was discovered by renowned musician Bullet of Ruff n Smooth fame when she sent a recording of her voice and was signed to his Rufftown record label just a day after listening to the recording.
Ebony came out with her first single, "Dancefloor", in December 2015. The song became a hit on radio landing her nomination for the unsung category at the 2016 Ghana Music Awards. In March 2016, Ebony released her major hit single "Kupe".
Her latest song “Maame Hwe” is enjoying massive airplay across the country.
