A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, agrees with calls for allowing Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to lead Ghana.

He is of the view that the country will not regret making the Vice President the President after the 2024 elections, considering his achievements as Vice President.

Gabby Asare Otchere Darko was speaking on Channel One TV when he made this known in an interview with Umaru Sanda.

Gabby Otchere-Darko, who described the Vice President as a problem solver, indicated that he had proven his mettle even with the small opportunity given to him by the President, adding that with his vision and program, men and women, he will perform wonders to help in the development of the country.

“Even as Vice President he has been allowed the one to pursue a vision especially one of digitization. What I see about Dr. Bawumia is that he is a problem solver. He sees a problem and when he is given space, he is given some space by his President and those things that he focused on he brought solutions.

Do you know why we didn’t have a crisis when we did not have dollars? Forget about the prices of fuel; those are determined by international prices. He found a solution for that. Even as Vice President, when he was given the space, areas that he operated in, he found solutions to problems that existed for decades.

I see him as a man of his own vision, a man of integrity, a man who has been part of one of the gravest crises and was there and knew what we had to go through to overcome the crisis. So when he is given the opportunity, with his own vision, with his own programme, with his own men and women, I believe that he is the leader that Ghanaians should give an opportunity to,” he said.
